Throughout my years as a student, I have tried to excel in grades and volunteer programs. One of the most important volunteer programs I have been involved with was the Ohio Reads program. This program is supported through a state-funded grant that allows high school students to mentor elementary students who have trouble with reading and comprehension. I was an active member of Ohio Reads for four years. I feel that this experience allowed me to appreciate the importance of a strong education at an early age and the joy of helping out children in my own community.

Another aspect that I am proud to have accomplished while attending Kent State University are the three Dean's List certificates I have received. My first time on the Dean's List was the Fall 2009 semester. My second time was after my Spring 2009 semester, and finally my third Dean's List certificate was for the Fall 2010 semester. I have always enjoyed school and I have always done well in my classes. However, I feel that since finding my true calling in my Communication Studies major, I feel that my grades and interest in school has skyrocketed. I now find myself striving to reach my full potential in my coursework, and I feel that my drive and desire will contine once I graduate from Kent State University and obtain a professional position in the business world.
